I am not tech-savvy. Will this work for me?

Yes. The workflows are written for someone who has never used a chat tool. The hardest part is the connected setup: giving the tool permission to read Gmail, Outlook, Calendar, Drive, or OneDrive. We show the copy-paste version first and walk you through connecting only when it is worth it. If you can text a photo, you can run every workflow here.

Won't the chat tool hallucinate and give me wrong information?

Sometimes, yes. Every workflow has a What It Doesn't Do section naming where to be careful. They are built for tasks where being wrong costs little, like a meal plan or a draft email you edit before sending, or where checking is easy, like calendar entries you confirm before saving. For medical, legal, and financial domains, they include explicit verification steps. We design around hallucination rather than pretend it away.

How is this different from just Googling 'AI prompts for moms'?

Do I need to use it every week or will I fall behind?

No. The free workflows are yours to use whenever, and member workflows never expire or require a streak. This is not a habit app that needs you on a schedule. Pick a workflow when a task is costing you time. Put it down. Come back when you are ready.

Do I need to be good at any of this?

No. The workflows are pre-written. You copy them, paste them into the chat tool you already use, and review what comes back. You do not write workflows. You do not configure anything. If you have sent a text message, you can run every workflow in this library.

Can I use the free workflows forever?

Yes. The two free workflows, The Calendar Cleaner and The Meal Planner, are free permanently. No trial period. No account required. No paywall after 30 days. If you never pay, you still have two complete workflows.

How long before I actually save time?

The first workflow takes about 20-30 minutes to run, including reading the setup guide. Most members see the time difference by the second week. The Calendar and Inbox workflows produce the fastest visible change because the tasks are so concrete. Start with whichever task is the most repetitive drain on your week.

What if I start and then don't have time to use it?

Nothing expires. The free workflows are always there, member workflows don't go stale, and there is no schedule to keep. Return whenever a task is costing you time. You're not behind if you skip a week. Most people use two or three workflows regularly and come back when a new category comes up.

What about privacy? I do not want my kids' information in an AI.

Reasonable. Each workflow includes a privacy note for any task that touches sensitive information. Settings vary by tool, so for every connected workflow we tell you what data it may touch, what to avoid pasting, and where to check its privacy controls. For sensitive workflows: use initials, skip Social Security numbers and passwords, and review medical or financial outputs before acting. Never paste full credit card numbers, medical record IDs, or login credentials into any third-party tool.

Is my data safe if I cancel or never pay?

We do not store your prompts or outputs. When you run a workflow, the conversation stays between you and the chat tool you already use, with nothing logged on our servers. The one thing we keep is the household profile you choose to fill out. It sits with our sign-in provider so the library can sort workflows by what matters to you, and includes things like whether you have kids and their age ranges. You can edit or delete it anytime, and we never sell it. If you cancel, you keep whatever you have downloaded.

What about kids? Should they be using AI?

Different question, different answer. The workflows here are written for the adult running the operation, not the kid. There is a workflow in development for AI-assisted homework that focuses on teaching rather than answering. We will share it when we are confident in the framing.

What should I never paste into a chat tool?

Social Security numbers, credit card or bank account numbers, medical record IDs, login credentials or passwords, insurance ID numbers, and any government ID. Redact these before pasting financial statements or medical documents. Every workflow that involves sensitive data includes a specific privacy note about what to remove first.

Can I use this without connecting Gmail or Outlook?

Yes. Every workflow has a copy-paste version that needs no connections. You paste email content, calendar entries, or statement data manually. The connected versions are optional upgrades for households that want the tool to read their accounts directly. We explain the difference in each workflow.

Isn't this just teaching people to use AI?

Do I need a paid chat subscription?

Usually no. Most copy-paste workflows run on the free versions of major chat tools. Some connected or higher-volume ones. Long PDF processing, inbox triage with email access, multi-document research. May work better on a paid plan. We tell you in each workflow what you need. The most expensive household setup is around $20 a month.

What if the chat tool I'm using changes or goes away?

The workflows are written in plain English, not tied to one tool. When a tool changes its interface, pricing, or capabilities, we update the affected workflows and notify members. Should a tool go away entirely, the underlying instruction still works. You paste it somewhere else. We maintain the library to stay current as the tools evolve.

Is this just a list of prompts?

No. Each workflow is a complete system: a setup guide, copy-paste prompts for each step, a 'what this returns' output example, real stories from early members, and explicit notes on what it cannot do. The prompts are the tool. The workflow tells you when to run them, what to expect, and what to do with the output.

Can I use this with the free version of ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude?

Yes. Every copy-paste workflow works with the free tier of any major chat tool. A few connected workflows, like the tool reading your inbox or calendar directly, may require a paid plan or a Google/Microsoft account connection. We tell you in each workflow what you need, and flag when the free version is enough.

Will my partner think I'm cheating somehow?

No. The Method works unilaterally. You don't need your partner's buy-in to start, and many members find the outputs make it easier to show a partner what is happening. The broadcast, the calendar, the weekly forecast. You share these when you want to, not as prerequisites. The first step is running one workflow that takes something off your plate.

I have ADHD. Will this actually help, or will I forget to use it?

Will this make my marriage worse?

Research suggests explicit, written allocation of household responsibilities improves marital satisfaction. Putting the mental load somewhere besides your head is more likely to surface what is happening than to escalate it. That said, this is not couples counseling. It helps when the load is the problem. Is this just for moms? What about dads?

What's the difference between Monthly and Annual?

Do I get time with a coach?

Yes. Members can book a one-hour coaching session with a Second Shift Method coach for $99, one-to-one. Use it to pick the workflows that fit your week, set them up live with your real family on the screen, or build a custom Shortcut. It is an operational hour, workflow setup, not therapy.

How do I cancel my subscription?

One click. Sign in, go to Account → Billing, and click Cancel subscription. We ask one optional question: why you're leaving. That's it. No retention call, no “are you sure?” pop-ups, no hidden steps. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, so you keep access through the date you've paid for. You can also cancel from inside your Stripe receipt email.

When am I charged? Will I get a reminder before renewal?

Your card is charged today when you join. Annual: $189 today, then $189 on the same day each year until you cancel. Monthly: $24 today, then $24 on the same day each month until you cancel. We email you 7 days before each annual renewal so you have time to cancel. Monthly subscribers get a Stripe receipt after each charge. All sales are final.

What happens to my account if I cancel?

Your access continues until the end of your current billing period, so you lose nothing the day you click cancel. After that, your account flips back to free-tier access, with the two free workflows open forever and your saved bookmarks intact. Come back later and you can re-subscribe in 30 seconds, right where you left off. We never delete your account or your saved settings unless you ask us to.

Can I switch between Monthly and Annual?

Yes. From Account → Billing, click Manage subscription. Stripe handles the switch and pro-rates your remaining balance. Going from Monthly to Annual saves about $99 a year.

What is an Honorary Member?

Comp grants are now called Honorary Member. Friends, family, press, early supporters who get the full library at no charge. Workflow access matches Annual: all 32 workflows are open. With an Honorary Member grant, there is nothing to cancel until renewal.

What if I try it and it doesn't work for me?
